I’m very happy to announce that I’ve been finally able to add audio spectrum to the KX3 Companion app.

The new version will be available to everyone in a few hours as a free upgrade for those with the FULL version.

Selecting the “SPECTRUM” tool, the app shows the audio spectrum. For devices allowing that, you can attach the KX3 Audio OUT to the device Audio IN for a better signal.

Here are a couple of screenshots showing what it looks like:

The spectrum shows the DSP filter center frequency and its bandwidth using 3 yellow lines: one for the center frequency and two showing the filter bandwidth.

By touching the spectrum you can also see the signal shift in Hz and the frequency (in MHz) of every single spectrum line.

You can also “zoom in” and “out” to have smeller/larger spectrum bandwidth.

This is the first step and next step is improve performances (now it refreshes every half a second but can be customized and depends on the device speed), add a waterfall as well as the option to set the center frequency and the filter bandwidth by simply touching the spectrum area.

I know that many of you were waiting for this option.

Please uninstall and reinstall the app for the upgrade. This feature is available for the FULL version only.
